NEW SPONSOR, NEW NIGHT, NEW VENUE!

The Legacy of Design Awards, the annual competition recognizing the finest interior design achievements within the Texas Chapter, was held in conjunction with METROCON Expo & Conference, but there were a few new twists for 2010!

NEW SPONSOR: Design Guide | ASID Texas Chapter was proud to have a new Media Sponsor for 2010: Design Guide. This collaboration complements their current sponsorships of the ASID Austin Design Community’s Design Excellence Awards and the ASID Dallas Design Community’s DesignOvation Awards, extending ASID brand coverage across both the Austin-San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth Design Guide editions.

NEW NIGHT: Wednesday | In 2006 we made merry on a Thursday evening after a full day on the tradeshow floor. From 2007 to 2009 we spiffed ourselves up after two productive conference days by shifting our revelry to Friday. This year we shook things up and celebrated on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, the Wednesday night before METROCON so that we were bright-eyed and fresh.

NEW VENUE: The International at Turtle Creek | This year we carved out our own celebratory niche during Summer Designs, a sizzling party for the A&D community produced by by Design Guide and The International at Turtle Creek Tenant Association. Located in the Dallas Design District at 150 Turtle Creek Boulevard, this venue allowed us to take time to honor our winners and still get in on the rest of the fun. INFORMATION REGARDING 2010 ENTRIES, AWARDS & INCENTIVES

The Call for Entries for the 2010 competition was announced via e-blast on April 13, 2010. Subsequent e-blasts went out on April 28, May 20 and May 27 before entries were due at the ASID Texas office on June 1 at 4PM.

NOTE: If you are not receiving these e-blasts, then you need to log in to www.asid.org and update your email address there in the national database, as that information trickles down to the Texas Chapter, as well as your local Design Community. In the meantime, mark your calendars for next year, as Legacy 2011 entries will be due sometime between mid- and late-May 2011.

All winners will be honored at the Legacy of Design Awards Awards event.

Winners will receive a certificate and recognition plaque / statue. (This subject to change.)

Each Entrant will receive one (1) complimentary ticket to the Awards event.

All winners’ names to be published in a special Legacy of Design section in both the October 2010 Austin-San Antonio Design Guide and the February 2011 Dallas-Fort Worth Design Guide. A project photograph and up to a 50-word description will be included for 1st Place winners.

All winners’ names, including one project photo each, will be included in the collection of rotating images on the front page of ASID Texas Chapter website throughout the 2010-2011 ASID leadership year, which runs October 1, 2010 – September 30, 2011.

Winners’ names will be publicized to local, regional, and national media, as well as ASID National, through press releases.

Within one week of the Legacy of Design event, winners’ names will appear on the Design Guide website.

Design Guide will provide each winner up to a total of 10 magazines containing the 2010 Legacy of Design winners. They can all be the October 2010 Austin-San Antonio Design Guide, the February 2011 Dallas-Fort Worth Design Guide, OR any combination of the two publications equal to 10.
